How is IPF treated?

Whilst there is no cure for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, various therapies may help to alleviate symptoms and slow down disease progression. Therapeutic strategies include various medications, as well as non-pharmacological options such as pulmonary rehabilitation, oxygen therapy and lung transplantation.1 Take a look at our treatments pages to find out more about these therapies. It is important to bear in mind that treatment decisions for IPF are highly personal for each patient and therefore it is essential to talk to your doctor about which therapy options may be right for you.
